Site Description
Forest
Tsushima islands, consisting of two islands of Kaminoshima and Shimonoshima, are located about 132 km northwest of Kyushu and near the Korean Peninsula.
Due both to their geographic feature of being near to Korean Peninsula, and to their abundant forests, considerable numbers of Yellow-throated Bunting and Pale Thrush breed here, while they migrate to Japan in winter. Mt.Mitake on Kaminoshima is noted for their breeding ground, and it has been designated as a Wildlife Protection Area.
