Eboshijima is an islet composed of rocky reefs situated northwest of Itoshima peninsula in Fukuoka Prefecture. The islet is surrounded on all sides by cliffs, and flat places are limited only to the areas around lighthouse facilities. The flora of the islet is poor and only Carex oahuensis and others are seen on the upper part of the islet. There are no trees. In winter, Japanese Cormorants can be seen around the islets, however, very few resident birds occur here Japanese Murrelets breed in cracks on rock walls or in hollows where Carex oahuensis grows.
