Site Description
Wetlands
It has a muddy tidal flat and a sandy tidal flat extending along the coast. Kagoshima's biggest plant community of Hibiscus hamabo and a lot of crabs including near threatened one can be seen there, and natural environments which is important as a stopover or a wintering ground for shorebirds still remains.
About twenty Black-faced Spoonbills winter at this site every year, and its number is the largest among the wintering grounds in Kagoshima Pref.
